The universal characteristic of all Radiohead fans is the mandatory denigration of mainstream music.  As the disapprovals become more vitriolic and the criticisms more widespread, the fan is proving himself to be more of a loyal Radiohead fan.  Also, the ability to be skinny, cynical, emotional, and detached is important when proving your Radiohead merit among your English-major indie friends.
