Most teenagers go through a befuddled period where they experiment and try to find themselves.  Most teenagers are also unable to afford to the obscene amounts of money needed to squander their formative years in an environment with hordes of other confused youths without gaining any sort of useful experience.  Thank goodness mommy and daddy would rather just see their little “lost child” appear to be happy for four years than actually concern themselves with the long-term outcome.
