By being most people’s gateway into the world of convertibles (read: cheapest), the Mazda Miata is the most likely car to carry a vanity plate and have a quickly blown transmission due to sudden, unnecessary accelerations (read: done primarily when trying to impress friend in passenger seat).

Also as a “chick car,” if a straight guy is indeed driving a Miata, he has to be very small to even fit in. His small stature is one more reason that he feels the need to compensate for his lack of physical prowess with a “zippy” car.
