Philadelphia transplants, who wisely living in new cities, love bitching about how you can’t get authentic Philly products outside of the northeast.  When their parents (who still living in the city) come to visit, the CARE package always includes an Eagles NFC East title sweatshirt (this could be the year I swear!), TastyCakes, Charlestown Peanut Chews, and Yuengling.  The beer is not so much intended to be drunk, but to be shown off to the transplant’s new friends about how they just don’t get how good “lager” is.  The friends just assume that the reason why Yuengling hasn’t spread far outside of Philly is because there must be some chemical relationship between the ingredients in the beer and having an angry disposition and losing sports teams.
